Detective Conan: Black Iron Submarine (2023) Movie Review
Detective Conan: Black Iron Submarine or with the original Japanese title Meitantei Conan: Kurogane no Submarine, is the 26th film of the anime Detective Conan. This film will be released in Indonesia on 26 July 2023.

Detective Conan: Black Iron Submarine Synopsis
Starting from the Europol facility in Frankfurt Germany, it was broken into by the Black organization. Apparently it had an impact on Interpol, where Japan just launched a facility for AI at Pacific Buoy on Hachijo-jima Island.
Conan and his friends happened to be on vacation on the island. Conan who saw Inspector Shiratori, went along to the facilities at Pacific Buoy. There is a new case there, namely the kidnapping of Yosuke Makino, as the leader and one of the founders of the facility.
On the other hand, the Black organization is targeting AI facilities that can search for people anywhere in the world. This made Ai Haibara kidnapped by a member of the Black organization, Pinga.
When Conan chases after the kidnapper, it turns out that there is a submarine, where the Black organization is hiding in the sea, and it is adjacent to the Pacific Bouy facility. Conan intends to return to save Haibara and Makino on the submarine.
It turned out that in the Pacific Buoy facility there was a murder case of one of the technicians named Leonhardt. Like it or not, Conan must also solve the case by finding the killer whether it is related to the submarine and the Black organization.

Stacked cases enrich the flow and plot
With advances in technology, things that should make it easier to find criminals, become a threat to Conan and Ai Haibara. The AI allows Shinichi Kudo and Sherry to know that the Black organization is still alive.
These worries escalated, when Ai Haibara was kidnapped. It confirmed that the Black organization had already made plans for these 2 fake children. Moreover, the kidnapping of Makino, the creator of the AI, made Conan look even more hasty.
Conan in the film Detective Conan: Black Iron Submarine, looks very excited to save Ai who is indeed his best friend and Makino. Even though it turns out that the 2 people who were kidnapped are related to each other.
The kidnapping case has expanded other plots related to the Black organization. Then the murder in the Pacific Buoy facility, thickens another plot that is related to Conan’s main enemy throughout his life.
Conan Edogawa acting solo
This time it was as if Conan was being chased with his personal problems, so the little detectives were only a sweetener. Even Ayumi, Mitsuhiko, and Genta never set foot on Pacific Buoy.
Maybe this case is too difficult and dangerous for children. In Detective Conan: Black Iron Submarine , the tools made by Professor Agasa are only used by Conan alone. As usual, turbo skateboards, special shoes, and clockwork are Conan’s main weapons.
Since Haibara’s kidnapping, Conan’s actions have been crazier. However, of course the final act of adrenaline is the ultimate ammunition. Conan also had to die, to make the ultimate action with the help of his partner Akai to destroy the submarine.
The crazy actions of Conan and his friends are always a surprise. Moreover, the animation support is luxurious, beautifying the appearance, even with the setting of the ocean on a pitch black night.
Haibara’s doubts
When he was kidnapped and met his old friend Makino, Haibara seemed to have quite given up on his life. His camouflage from Shiho Miyano or Sherry to Ai Haibara had been uncovered, so there was no reason for him to stay.
In several scenes, Haibara is seen thinking about how to continue his life in dealing with the Black organization that already knows his identity, even Shinichi Kudo who is in Conan Edogawa’s body.

The 26th film Detective Conan still presents tension with the cases that are piled up. Even though there are several cases in one film, Detective Conan: Black Iron Submarine still maintains the main plot and focuses on Conan.
Conan’s actions alone are assisted by a tool from Professor Agasa, always racing the heart. A boy fighting an evil organization in a submarine seems impossible. However, again with ingenuity and a little help from his colleagues, Conan solves this case well.
