Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2022)

‘Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Movie’ is based on the character created by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird. The film’s plot follows Leonardo as he is forced to lead his brothers to save the world from the Krang.

Continuation of the animated television series ‘Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’, produced by Nickelodeon Movies and Nickelodeon Animation Studio with animation by Flying Bark Productions, Top Draw Animation, Digitoonz Media and Cartoon Conrad Productions. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Synopsis

After suffering a crushing defeat, Leonardo/Leo(Ben Schwartz) has an idea to send Casey Jones (Haley Joel Osment) to the past before the alien Krang invasion. Michelangelo/Mikey (Brandon Mychal Smith), a master of magic, opened a time portal at the cost of sacrificing himself, and sent Casey Jones to warn them in the past before the key to the alien gate to Earth was found by the Foot Clan.

Stranded in the time when Raphael/Raph (Omar Benson Miller) continues to argue with Leonardo who is indeed the eldest brother who is so selfish. In thwarting theft mission, they failed. The stolen item falls to the Foot Clan, it is revealed is the key to Krang’s alien portal to Earth.

Seeing this, Casey Jones seemed to have failed to anticipate things that should not have happened. At the same time Raph was kidnapped by Krang and became one of their troops. The magical powers of the ninja turtles disappeared instantly when they fought Krang One (Jim Pirri).

Leo, Donatello (Josh Brener), Casey Jones, April O’Neil (Kat Graham) and Splinter (Eric Bauza) are forced to fight the super strong alien Krang with minimal strength. While saving the earth, the ninjas must save their brother Raph who is made into Krang’s minion.

Templates the story of the ninja turtles is never old

Maybe you have often seen this type of big plot in various Ninja Turtles movies, even in movies live action with Megan Fox. The rise of the enemy with the internal conflict of one of the members continues to be a duet of conflicts that are always tense. This time, Leonardo’s conflict of selfishness, the eldest brother, is the main focus.

Leonardo’s selfishness, who felt that his way was always the best to quell crime, became the master’s backbone, which was evident from the start. This story is suitable for all ages, so children can more quickly grasp the meaning and message to be conveyed from the work of the ninja turtles group.

Even the emergence of Krang by sharing his deadly virus (like a zombie virus that spreads so quickly turns all creatures into ferocious and forgets everything) becomes not so pronounced. Strength that exceeds the strength of the ninja, contradicting their development on Earth which instead becomes a burden for them.

Completion with a simple solution seems appropriate for this kind of genre. Not so confusing, directly without direct contact, which some fans might be waiting for from each other’s actions.

The Ninja Turtles’ power is meaningless

From the start, we are presented with the power of the ninja turtles with their unique weapons, reinforced by the magical powers of the holograms that match their respective distinctive colors. Even though you’ve seen it often in the ‘Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ series, it won’t be of much use in this movie.

Even though Raph and Leonardo are more prominent with their super power, Raph is united with Leonardo’s teleportation which is so useful in every battle. Unfortunately, the strength of the four of them only ended in a climax against Krang.

Minimal character

There are no additional characters in this film, perhaps the adult version of Casey Jones will complement the Ninja Turtles with April. Even the Splinter teacher (Eric Bauza) is useless in this film. Krang, the main alien, doesn’t look so ferocious either, even his ridiculous behavior unites with the ridiculous behavior of the Ninja Turtles.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Conclusion

The simple plot that often appears in every Ninja Turtles movie seems to strengthen it templates a great conflict encounter with the internal conflicts of the ninjas. Even though there weren’t many twists and turns, the tension from this conflict was still felt from the beginning to the end of the fight.

Unfortunately the magical powers of each ninja that we’ve been waiting for are not very useful against this Krang. Ninja Turtles are back to being conventional ninjas with their typical melee combat type and weapons.

The role of Casey Jones should be the main key to the story, as if only as a complement to the actions of the four ninjas, namely Raph, Leo, Mikey, and Donie.
